Rules & Structure

Yearly Competitions

Each year, we host up to four thrilling competitions, culminating in an epic finale.

The top spots in the finale are secured by the winners of the three preliminary events, alongside the eight best athletes from the previous year.

Additionally, there is an online wildcard spot, voted on by the public through the @freelife_cliffmasters Instagram account.

This brings a total of 12 elite athletes to the finals, ready to go all in.

How It’s Scored

The scoring system is managed by a panel of three judges. Before each jump, the athlete states the trick they will perform, which is pre-assigned a base score from 1 to 10.

After the jump, the judges evaluate two critical aspects: execution and style.

  • Execution can deduct up to 2 points for loss of control or mistakes.

  • Style, a personal and creative trait, can deduct up to 1 point only if it appears robotic or unnatural.

Each athlete performs two jumps, with the median score from both taken as their final result.

The judges also value diversity in tricks.

The jump order is determined randomly, and between each jump, athletes are given up to 5 minutes at the exit point to prepare.

Note: Staying true to freestyle, entries are not expected to be flawless, but maintaining control is essential.

Height

All competitions feature jumps from heights ranging between 21 and 25 meters.

Prizes

Each competition offers prizes based on its scale and budget. Athletes are our priority, and we’re committed to increasing prizes as the competition grows.
